Then don’t miss our blog post on game making and Durak rules!

History of Durak – How did the game come about?

The rules of Durak were codified and published as early as the 18th century. While the Russian nobility preferred to play poker or bridge, Durak was popular among commoners and peasants. After the Russian Revolution in the 20th century, card games became increasingly popular in all walks of life. Today, children learn to play durac from an early age.

What are the rules of Durak?

Basically, the Durak rule is very simple. This card game can be played with 2-6 players (depending on how many players you have) using 36 or 52 card decks. To prepare for the game, each player receives six cards. If a player only receives cards of the same suit (for example, all hearts), he can request that the cards be reshuffled and dealt.

Finally, place one card face up in the middle. This card is now the trump card and is very important in both the offensive and defensive phases of the game. The player with the lowest card of the trump suit starts.

What you need to play:

• 2-6 players

• 36 or 52 cards (36 cards = from 6 to Ace, 52 cards = from 2 to Ace)

The goal is to get rid of your hand of cards first. This is done by players attacking each other. You will always be attacked by teammates on the left and right. The opponent attacks with one or more cards, and the attacked player must fend off these cards. He does this by playing a higher card from the attack suit or a card from the trump suit.

If the defender cannot parry the attack, he must pick up all cards played and must not attack in the next turn. After a battle, all players must have 6 cards in their hands again. Pump water from the deck facing down. The game continues in this manner, round after round, until the deck is empty and only cards from the hand are played.

Whoever has the last card or cards in their hand loses. He is a fool and has to reshuffle the cards and deal them again in the next round. If all players can fold their cards in the last round, it is a tie.

Where to play Durak online?

No Durak games are currently offered at online casinos. There are apps for this in the Google Play Store or in the Apple App Store. You can easily download this onto your smartphone or tablet and you’re good to go. In most cases it is not only possible to play against the computer, but also against other players. There are also extra websites where you can play Durak.

Durak – Conclusion

No game for dummies!

The popular card game from Russia is suitable for all ages, even children can learn to play Durak. No wonder, then, that the game is becoming more and more popular here as well. All you need is a deck of 36 cards (from 6 to Ace) and some scrappy friends – because in the end, whoever has no cards wins.

You can get rid of your deck of cards by attacking other players. It’s best to use the highest possible card so you don’t get overrun. The trump card is worth more than all other cards and is also decisive. Unfortunately, there is no Durak in the casino, but maybe that will change in the future. Until then, you can play Durak online or experience blackjack and other card games at online casinos.
